How we work
We develop comparative knowledge, assist in democratic reform, and influence policies and politics, focusing in our main impact areas: electoral processes, constitution-building, democracy assessments, and political participation and representation. We also address issues of gender equality and inclusion, and conflict and security.
We support democratic change through our convening potential at the country, expert and international levels. We work in the spirit of peer dialogue, nurturing an open and pluralistic understanding of democracy that is respectful of the national context and which reflects our non-prescriptive and non-intrusive approach.
