Gregory Kehailia’s work focuses on leading the implementation of International IDEA’s EU-funded STEP Democracy program in Myanmar, with a special emphasis on providing senior advocacy and technical expertise to the Union Election Commission.
Kehailia’s previous work experience includes assisting electoral and political processes for almost two decades, mostly in war-torn, post-conflict and transitional countries. He has supported electoral institutions, civil society organizations and human rights defenders with the United Nations, the European Union, the Anna Lindh Euromed Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
He has worked in Europe, United States, Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia and his field assignments include Syria, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Myanmar.
Kehailia has received IFES “You Make a Difference” Award in 2011 and 2013.
